Ok... the idea of this forum is simple, We post our hunts, the dates, weather etc, what we seen if anything, and what we killed, if anything. If enough people participate, we can get a good idea from that data when and where, and what weather seems to produce the predators in the east.

This would be great. Since I am a new old timer to this sight I would like to find out what works NOW, compared to 20 year ago.
I don't mean to bug anybody but all this new fangled stuff is hard for an old timer.
This is an outstanding sight for Tennessee hunters and everyone should be thankful for it. I AM.

How do hunters call in coyote's? Do you call with a howl then go to an animal distress and then back to a howl? Do you call for a couple of minutes then stop for a couple, then back to calling? It would be nice if some of the successful hunters would share some of there secrets with the novice ones.

Hey Jackson, I'm sure everyone does it a little different. Personally when bobcat season is in I stay away from the bark/howls. When I'm about ready to leave a stand I usually do a few ki-yi's. I've had'em just come running out of brush with there ears up. No telling how long they're sitting there listening. Curiousity kills more than cats! After cat season I will use howls (mating season it works great) but I still don't use them at every stand. I figure howls travel further than I care to walk on each stand.

Thanks, yotehntr.
I made a stand today and all I called in was 2 house cats, but it was exciting hearing one of them coming through the leaves. I thought house cats were supposed to be quite, but this one came like a mad bandit and went to my floppy thing and then jumped stright up, and ran about 10 yds. looked back then went into the woods. I got a kick out of that.
I do not have a howling coyote with my pm4 caller, but will have to get one. The calls they send with these thing leave a lot to be desired. You would think spending a couple hundred bucks that you would get some decent calls.

i have been pred hunting for 8 yrs or so. ive only learned that EACH hunt is dif and unique. i have never aquired a pattern of what works and what dont. the only constant in this game is my time in the words. the critters have a mind of their own as to when and where they show themselves. Dont forget to see the beauty of the outdoors!
