I am sure some of you have heard of the protests here in Afghanistan. The protest actually took place yesterday right down the road from me. Since we are trying to win the hearts and minds of the local population we allow the locals to work here and one of those jobs they do is transporting water to the showers and latrines. All of those facilities have since been shut down due to no locals being allowed on post. It just amazes me how something like this can shut down something so simple when there are trained personnel in the Military called shower and laundry specialists that could be doing the job.

as you know the media will only allow us in the states to see and hear what they want us too. what are the shower and laundry specialists doing? Thats why our government needs to let our military do their jobs and kept the media out until it is over. Thankyou for your service and be careful.

I feel your pain. Did what you are doing for over 20 years. Had similar although not nearly as severe issues and deadly consequences as what you are dealing with now.
Suffice it to say.........the Quartermaster Corp "ain't" what it used to be.
I realize that you cannot express your opinion on why this happening........but I can. Without getting too political, unfortunately, the problems you are encountering in Trashcanistan are NOT going to improve and VERY likely get worse until there is a new Commander In Chief who will provide the leadership, integrity, and example needed to bring out Armed Forces HOME and use them ONLY for what the founders intended them to be used for.
I take that you must either be with the 101st or one of Tennessee's National Guard units. I spent about 10 years with the 101st in between short tours and again.......I can feel your pain about how the 101st can exasperate even the most dedicated and strongest among us.
Hang in there and don't let it get to you. How much time do you have left before you rotate back to CONUS?
By the way.....thank you for your service.

Double up on everything WRTN has said. Unfortunately, when politicians start sticking their nose into the business of the military, it's an instant cluster %$&k. Thanks for your service and my God bring you back safely.
