Hello Everyone!

I am new to this sport and so new that I have not even been predator hunting yet, but I did buy a new gun on Thursday. I bought a Tikka T3 Lite, SS Barrel, in .223 REM. I know I am going to need to cover up the barrel, but I sure do like it. I took it out today to sight in the scope, and I could not be more pleased with its performance. Attached is a picture of my target from 100 yards. I am so looking forward to getting out there!

Good Hunting!

Welcome,

Be careful, this sport is addicting! All deer season I was scouting for coyote hunts.

Nice looking group! I really like the .223 rifles. The ammo is inexpensive so you can shoot them a lot. Mine is just a single shot, but it has the vamint barrel so I can use it for prairie dogs while I'm out west. For most of TN if you sight it in at 1" high you can pretty much aim dead on way on out there.

Those Tikkas can shoot. You are going to love it!

I've got one in 22-250 and 30-06. The 22-250 has accounted for 2 coyotes so far.

Broknbonz - part of how I got interested in this sport was by watching a show on predator hunting on one of the outdoor type channels and the other part is I like getting outdoors and the thrill of the hunt.

Yotehntr - please keep me informed of the Mid TNer's meeting as I would love to come and meet everyone (and learn something too)!

Welcome to the site FTR. Looks like that will do it. What are you feeding your .223?

A friend of mine gave me a few boxes of Federal's American Eagle 55gr FMJs. Nothing fancy and I was really surprised how well they shot.

I love Tikka rifles. I have two. One in 22-250 and another in 25-06. Both of them are dead nuts shooters. You're gonna love that rifle.

Hey Red,

Have you camo-ed up that 22-250? If so, got pics?

Teamroper is after me to do mine, why, I have no idea. . .

Also, what recipe are you cooking in that one?
